Has Your IG Been Lacking?
With over 800 million active users and over 500 million daily users, Instagram can easily become one of the best tools that you can use to grow your business, but only if you do it right. Let’s find out where you may be lacking in your IG game.
Aesthetics
The art of having a successful Instagram account is the look of your account, we like to call this your “visual voice”. Remember, Instagram is for pictures and videos, if you can get your point across by just using these 2 options, then you are well on your way to having a great Instagram account. That being said, a visual voice gives you your brand’s personality, and having a personality is a great way to keep your audience/customers captivated when browsing through your Instagram page. Great way of doing this is the use of themes. Example? Wendys.
Wendy’s brand colors are comprised of Red, Yellow, White, and Blue. Having a colored theme to your posting shows that you care about your brand and that you put thought into your posting. Your followers will notice.

How you post matters!
Okay, now that you’ve got your theme picked, let’s start posting.
Let’s talk about your photo size, and believe it or not, in this case, size really does matter. Since the feature was introduced in February 2017, we have only been able to post square cropped photos on Instagram. But this is no longer the case. With Instagram’s 2017 update, we are also able to post portrait sized photos, no more landscape restrictions. Now, this begs the question, Portrait? Or Landscape? Well, the answer is, the more space that you can take up on your follower’s phone screen, the better. You will be catching more attention and holding it much longer as your followers scroll down your feed. Take a look at this quick example.

Your portrait dimensions are 3:4.
Use them stories!
Not taking advantage of all the options that a certain platform provides is a common mistake that most businesses make. The Instagram Story option is one that is usually neglected but can be one of the best tools for reaching your followers.
Now, posting on your feed every day is usually the recommended amount to post without running the risk of fatiguing your followers. Posting twice a day? Well, you’re kinda stretching it. But if you’re posting on your story? You can go to town! Utilizing your story gives you a different avenue to push out promotions, new content as well as Live moments. Oh and if your recent post did not get the love that you thought it deserved because let’s say, you posted it way too early in the day? Share it to your story and remind them to go back to your profile and check it out!
